PAUL BOS HEAT-TREAT - The heat-treating of all our knives made at our factory in Post Falls, ID is essential to ensuring the pedigree and integrity of every blade. We are constantly optimizing our approaches. The process involves human blade heating, freezing, and then reheating (or tempering) the metal using state-of-the-art proprietary technology.
Edge2x™ TECHNOLOGY - This technology is our proprietary alternative for prolonging edge retention. We achieve this with always thinner, flatter, and better edges. Hollow grinding additionally leads to strength retention. In addition, we hand-edge every blade to minimize risk of burning, which can reduce durability and create the blade more brittle. A laser-measuring device verifies that a given border matches the desired requirements. The effect; edge bevels that are flat, consistent and so are easier to sharpen.
