Few journalists in America’s heritage have had the effect on their craft and their age as Carl Bernstein. For forty years, from All the President’s Men to Some Woman-In-Charge: The Life of Hillary Clinton, Bernstein’s books, coverage, and comment have revealed the inner-workings of politics, government, and the hidden tales of Washington and its leaders.

From the early 1970s, both Bernstein and Bob Woodward broke the Watergate story for The Washington Post, Resulting in the resignation of President Richard Nixon and setting the standard for modern investigative reporting, for which they along with The Article were awarded the Pulitzer Prize.

Since then, Bernstein has continued to build on the theme that he and Woodward first explored from the Nixon years–the use and misuse of power: political, social, societal, financial, cultural and spiritual power. Renowned as a prose stylist, he served as a founding editor of their first important political site, has also written a biography of Pope John Paul II, and turned into a rock critic.

The author of five bestselling books, Bernstein is now also at work on several multi-media jobs, such as a memoir about growing up in a Washington newspaper, The Evening Star, through the Kennedy era, that will be released at 2016; and a dramatic TV show on the United States Congress for HBO. He is also a contributing editor of Vanity Fair magazine and an on-air contributor for CNN.

His latest book was that the nationwide bestseller A Woman In Charge: The Life of Hillary Rodham Clinton, acclaimed as the definitive biography of its subject, published by Knopf.
