Few journalists in America’s heritage have had the effect on their craft and their age as Carl Bernstein. From the early 1970s, both Bernstein and Bob Woodward broke the Watergate story for The Washington Post, Resulting in the resignation of President Richard Nixon and setting the standard for modern investigative reporting, for which they along with The Article were awarded the Pulitzer Prize.

Since then, Bernstein has continued to build on the theme that he and Woodward first explored from the Nixon years–the use and misuse of power: political, social, societal, financial, cultural and spiritual power. Renowned as a prose stylist, he served as a founding editor of their first important political site, has also written a biography of Pope John Paul II, and turned into a rock critic.
