Carol Townend writes atmospheric historical books (romances and sagas) set at the southern northern Ages. Carol moved to a convent school high. She studied history at Royal Holloway College. She resides with daughter and her husband.
Her first novel, Sapphire from the Snow, won the RNA New Writers' Award. Two other novels have been shortlisted for its RoNA Rose celebrity - Betrothed to the Barbarian at 2013 and also Unveiling Lady Clare in 2015.
Carol loves research and spends time hunting for reasons to go on research trips. She can be seen poring over a map, or teetering on the battlements of various European lands.
