Cathy Johnson known as Kate, has been contributing editor and staff naturalist for Country Living magazine for 11 years, and has worked as a naturalist, author, and artist for the past 35 years. She had been a contributing editor to the Artist's Magazine and Watercolor Magic (currently Watercolor Artist) and has had a regular column at Personal Journaling magazine, in which she wrote on a topic she feels intensely about -- realizing the significance of creativity in our lives. She has written and illustrated -- her very own work and that of others -- for several national magazines, including Science Digest, Harrowsmith Country Life, Sports Afield, Country Journal, Muzzlelader, Women's History, Early American Life, Sketchbook, Woodworker, Woman's Day, Threads, Mother Earth News, National Wildlife Magazine, Sierra and others. Her writing and artwork have been contained in many of art books and nature anthologies.
