In describing Cheryl St.John's stories of second chances and salvation, reviewers and readers use words like, "emotional punch, hometown feel, heart values, believable characters and real life situations."
Cheryl is the award-winning author of over fifty Harlequin and Silhouette books, as well as several independently published novels. Her book Composing With Conflict, Tension & Emotion by Writer's Digest is a seller. Cheryl has ever loved the exciting and varied worlds accessible between the covers of books. As a child Cheryl wrote stories and brought on covers, then stapled them. All of the book pictures cut in the book bar commercials from the Sunday paper and glued them into bits of cardboard so reg & Barbie; had a full library.
She was a voracious reader and admits that her early enthusiasm was for horror and true crime. Eventually she read Victoria Holt and Catherine Cookson, one day surfing the book section, '' she purchased Hummingbird by LaVyrle Spencer and took a chance, then drove back to the shop for Your Rainbow Season by Lisa Gregory. She was immediately accepted by romance, enthralled by Americana, the American West and hooked for life.
And so, when she got serious and chose to write a novel, it was, naturally, a love. A plotted love. But finally she joined Romance Writers of America along with her local chapter (Romance Authors of the Heartland), and was fortunate to have the late Diane Wicker Davis because her very first mentor.
Cheryl thinks in paying it forward, along with her some of her most rewarding experiences have been sharing in the successes of authors she's coached through time.
