Christopher S. Ahmad, M.D. is your Head Team Physician for the New York Yankees and also a part of the Main League Baseball Team Physicians Association. He is a Professor of Clinical Orthopaedic Surgery at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and an Attending Orthopaedic Surgeon at the New York-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Dr. Ahmad grew up in Long Island with a passion for playing football and played in the New York Empire State Games, the Eastern Region Olympic Development Team, and four Decades of varsity football in nationally ranked Columbia University. His career course that is dedicated to prevention and the treatment of childhood sports accidents was sparked by his history in soccer.

He now serves as the Chief of Adolescent and Pediatric Sports Medicine and also the Manager of Biomechanics Research at the Center for Orthopaedic Research. He has given more than 100 lectures and has authored over 100 articles and book chapters associated with sports medicine, and shoulder, knee, elbow. He is the writer of the textbooks Pediatric and Adolescent Sports Injuries and Minimally Invasive Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. Dr. Ahmad has received several awards for outstanding research in the field of sports medicine.

Dr. Ahmad has served on MLB study committees to address the high incidence of Tommy John Surgeries in professional baseball. He is also the Head Team Physician for its expansion Major League Soccer New York City Football Club and for neighborhood high schools and serves as consultant to clubs and nearby metropolitan volleyball. He also is the medical provider to the Soccer Club Westchester Soccer Academy.
