Christopher Lehman is the Founding Director of The Educator Collaborative. He is education adviser, an worldwide speaker and New York Times best-selling writer. His books include With Close Reading with Kate Roberts and Energize Research Reading and Writing. Interviews and his articles have appeared in several books and popular blogs including Voices from the center, SmartBrief, EdWeek, Choice Partner and Literacy with Teachers.

Chris continues to be a middle-school teacher; a high-school teacher; a spiritual coach; and a Senior Staff Developer together with all the Teachers College Reading and Writing Project at Columbia University. Now so students may hold their best futures, he is working to innovate the ways educators learn online and in-person, providing opportunities for teachers, coaches, and administrators to share their experience.

A graduate of UW-Madison, Chris went on to receive his M.A. in Teaching at NYU and also his Ed.M. in Education Leadership at Teachers College, Columbia University. In addition to writing and consulting, he serves on the Board of Directors to the National Center for Families Learning; has been a chosen member of the NCTE Middle Level Section Steering Committee (2014-2018), incoming Chair (2016-2018) and incoming member of the NCTE Executive Committee (2016-2018); is still a Booksource Advocate; also has functioned as an education advisor to the National Center for Literacy Education.
