Clare Havens Reviews

Clare grew up in England at a small village straight out of those pages of an Agatha Christie novel (with fewer murders). Clare's Constable Country Mysteries books were motivated by this village and the writings of DL Sayers, Margery Allingham and Agatha Christie. 'Writer's Block' is the first publication in the series, followed by 'Still Waters' and 'Tailor Made'. 'One for Sorrow' is due for publication in late 2017.

Clare also writes mid grade fiction. Years spent living in Manhattan and a love of old movies starring William Powell and Humphrey Bogart were the inspiration for its 'Bella Street Mysteries' which have been described as Derek Zoolander meets Sam Spade or Nancy Drew matches Cruella de Vil. The initial two Bella Street Mysteries, 'The Secret Formula' and 'Doc Gutson's Revenge' were runners up in the Sydney Writer's Word Festival. The third novel in this series, 'The Fat Lady Sings' finishes the trilogy. The revised tales are offered at 'The Bella Street Mysteries Trilogy'.

'The Bellamy Bird' is a traditional whodunnit using a time travel twist; a classic mystery for anybody who enjoys books by Agatha Christie, PG Wodehouse, Richmal Crompton or even Arthur Ransome. A very British mystery shortly to be released as a music book in addition to this paperback and kindle novel.

Clare now lives in Sydney.
