Hi and thank you for taking a minute to read my author's biography. You will find I've written a variety of novels. There are two instructional books on Stand UP paddling and kayaking. My expertise in these regions comes from trying to get a Stand Up and kayak paddling center for more than 19 years located in Sausalito, California.
Since I've taken clients on a lot of a seaside tour in Sausalito, through the years, I've done much research on the local history. This directed me to print, "A Brief History of Sausalito." All of the aforementioned novels are filled with photo-illustrations.
On the opposite end of this spectrum is "The Giants' Last Tear." This book is deemed historical story fiction and focuses on the repercussions of a junk bond supported takeover of a family run logging company from Northern California. This dramatic narrative centers around the fight to conserve the ancient redwood forests and can be filled with historical context and interesting characters.
I've also written a few children's books. In reality, these books are also intended for adults. It is great to look back in the stories that I read as a child but now as a adult that I found myself needing something more complicated concerning character development, humor and underlying topics. I think in my stories I've maintained the innermost character of lots of the traditional fairy/fantasy tales but additional layers so children and adults can equally enjoy my novels using their various interpretations.
Besides working on book projects, naturally I love the outdoor lifestyle which is so simple to do this in Northern California. That can be a far cry from my childhood roots in nyc. From the City I went into secondary school in Connecticut and made my way out to California for college. After finding the west shore, and its awesome beauty I finally settled in Marin County just north of San Francisco. I am blessed to live in an inspiring environment that feeds my
Deepak Khanchandani is a writer, director, and producer with an intrinsically visual, fast-paced storytelling style.
His major influences include the functions of Douglas Adams, Isaac Asimov, J. K. Rowling along with Diane Duane, as well as attributes by Disney (such as Pixar and Marvel), Dreamworks, and Studio Ghibli to name a few.
Adventure and humor often seem to be the focus of his job, but make sure you be on the lookout for that craftily concealed dark streak running just under the surface. In any event, something that's virtually guaranteed is 1 heck of an other-worldly encounter. See all Deepak Khanchandani products
