Among Amprobe's primary products was the Inductive clamp meter "Amprobe", where the organization acquired its first patent in September 1950. The Amprobe name became so synonymous with clamp meters which in 1960 the firm name was officially changed to Amprobe Instrument Corporation. Amprobe continued to design, fabricate and distribute goods out of its Lynbrook, NY place until it had been merged to form ATP and moved to South Florida in late 1999. In 2006 Amprobe was acquired from the Danaher Corporation and transferred its worldwide headquarters into Everett, Washington.
