Robin Pickens

Robin Pickens makes artwork and designs to discuss inspiration and creativity. One constant in her work is really a love of colour and character, especially through florals and other growing miracles. Robin’s passions have found a beautiful house with creating coloring books for Fox Chapel Publishing/Design Originals. Robin’s Seek, Locate, Color series celebrates nature and gardens and inspiration using a hidden surprise someplace in the picture. Robin loves creating art that's both reassuring and inspirational. Her Seize the Day calendars for Sellers Publishing (she's currently working on her 8th year of calendars) are available in many formats and share quotations and vibrant flowers. They have blossomed into notecards and gift books for professionals, moms, teachers, and graduates that share those thoughts.

Robin studied design and art at the University of Michigan School of Art, earning her BFA. She worked for quite a few years in the broadcast and entertainment industry, producing series packages and cartoons . She's been the recipient of numerous awards within the air design industry. After years as a Art Director, Design Director and Manager, she decided she was not doing enough of this creative work she greatly adored. She continued her schooling at Otis College of Art and Design in fabric and surface design and started licensing her artwork to a array of organizations. She has her designs on giftware, calendarsand coloring books, dishware, rugs, wall art, in addition to other products. Back in 2015 Robin won the spoonflower.com Fabric8 contest, including the opportunity to utilize Moda Fabrics. She designs and leaves quilt patterns to go for her fabric lines and loves sharing her passion along with other makers and crafters.
