Cat Bennett

Hi! I'm Cat Bennett. I'm an artist, illustrator and author. I live in Watertown, MA, a stone's throw from Boston.

I am the author of three books on drawing and also the artist's lifetime: The Confident Creative/Drawing into Free the Hand and Head; Making Art a Practice, and The Drawing Club of Improbable Dreams, all published by Findhorn Press. I hope that my novels encourage people to go where they haven't gone before and to draw, express themselves with art. I am also hoping to inspire artists to create drawing teams to work in approaches that are experimental and also have fun with drawing. My most recent book offers a year's worth of drills a club can work with.

I've worked as an illustrator for over 25 years with customers like the Boston Globe, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Time Magazine and Lots of others. I've also done illustrations for youngsters' publications for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt Brace, Scholastic, along with many others. I've made short spots such as many different nonprofits, Nickelodeon-TV, WGBH and CBC Sesame Street.

I Really like writing too and have written essays for The Huffington Post, The Los Angeles Times, The American, Yoga Magazine LA, Yoga UK, Integral Yoga Magazine, Red and many others.

Thank you for taking a look at my books. I hope you enjoy them!

Caitlin Moran

Caitlin Moran had plenty of time to write her first book, The Annals of Narmo, and so had no friends in 1990. At sixteen she combined music weekly, Melody Maker, and at eighteen hosted the pop up series Naked City. Adhering to this precocious start she then put in eighteen solid years as a columnist on the Times—equally as a television critic and also in the most-read portion of the paper, the satirical superstar column “Celebrity Watch”—winning the British Press Awards’ Columnist of The Year award in 2010 and also Critic and Interviewer of the Year at 2011. The oldest of eight children, Caitlin read lots of novels about feminism—mainly in an attempt to be able to show to her brother, Eddie, that she had been superior than him. Caitlin isn’t her name. She had been christened ‘Catherine. ’ However she watched ‘Caitlin’ at a Jilly Cooper novel if she was thirteen and thought it seemed exciting. She pronounces it incorrectly, this & #x 2019; therefore: ‘Catlin. ’ It causes trouble for everybody.

Sy Montgomery

"Part Emily Dickinson, a part Indiana Jones," because the Boston Globe has called her, and Sy Montgomery was chased by an angry silverback gorilla at Zaire and swum with piranhas and pink dolphins in the Amazon. To research her books, films and articles, she's worked in a pit swarming with 18,000 snakes in Canada and been searched by a tiger in India. She has hiked the Altai Mountains of Mongolia's Gobi desert and penetrated the cloud forests of Papua New Guinea to radio collar tree kangaroos. No place is too far to go to attract animals' stories around the globe to adults and children.

Th author of the national bestseller, The fantastic Good Pig, as well as 15 other renowned nonfiction novels, Montgomery writes for printing as well as broadcast in an effort to reach as broad an audience as possible at what she considers that a critical turning point in human history. "We're on the cusp of either ruining this candy, green Earth or revolutionizing the way we understand the remainder of animate generation," she says. "It's a significant time to be referring to the connections we share with all our fellow creatures. It is a wonderful time to be living."
