Launched in 1960 as Yamaha International Corporation, Yamaha Corporation of America (YCA) provides a full line of musical instruments and also audio/visual products to the U.S. marketplace. YCA is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Yamaha Corporation, Japan, and is currently among the largest global subsidiary companies.

Yamaha Commercial Audio Systems (YCAS) was established in 2006 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of YCA. YCAS offers an increasing line of commercial sound products for the US and Canadian markets, and spreads Nexo speaker merchandise into the US and Canada.

Yamaha Corporation of America, AV Division, offers a comprehensive line of audio products into the US marketplace, such as AV receivers, amplifiers, Blu-ray/CD players, iPod docking systems, cans, home-theater-in-a-box platforms, audio bars and its exclusive line of Digital Sound Projectors.

Inside YCA's Customer Sales & Marketing Group (CSM) there are several sales and marketing divisions, including piano and computer products, band and orchestral instruments, live sound and music production goods, drums, guitars and consumer solutions. Along with such product branches, YCA includes other business administrative divisions including Finance, Information Technology, Operations, Human Resources, Client Financial Services, Customer Support Team, and Administration.

YCA also manages its large artist relations efforts from five US-based centers: Yamaha Artist Services, Inc. (YASI) in New York City, Yamaha Artist Services Nashville (YASN) in Franklin, TN, Yamaha Artist Services Indianapolis (YASIN), and Yamaha Artist Services Burbank (YASB) at Burbank CA, and also the Los Angeles Atelier at Buena Park, CA.

The Yamaha Entertainment Group of America was established in 2012 as a boutique, one-stop-shop recording label, based in Franklin, TN.
