Dana Ferris (Ph.D., Applied Linguistics, University of Southern California) is a professor at the University Writing Program at the University of California, Davis. She is particularly interested in teachers respond to student writing and subscribers, teacher education, and language authors. She's co-author or the author of over 40 journal articles and eight books and book chapters. She is also a seminar and workshop speaker.

Dana lives in Davis, California, along with her husband and her yellow Lab, Winnie the Pooch. She enjoys USC football the San Francisco Giants, and Jon Stewart.
