Stanley Marianski

Stanley Marianski was born in Poland where he learned the craft of food preservation from his parents. When the war ended out was dead and some cities were 80 percent destroyed. Food preservation became the ability to survive. Because there were no stores, Food wasn't available in shops. To survive a brutal winter, basic things like tomato paste, sauerkraut, pickles, mushrooms, fruit jams, potatoes, onions, milk, meats and noodles needed to be prepared in this manner that they would continue until summer, otherwise the dinner table would be empty. There were people and no refrigerators had preserve and to prepare their own food.
One passion remained with him during his entire life - smoking meats, which makes sausages and preserving food. Getting blessed to live and work in countries he learned six languages but also different procedures of food preparation. What has bothered him was that there were only a few quality books written for a normal reader. There were innovative books and some specialized papers published in Food Technology journals however those materials were beyond comprehension of an ordinary person. Hence was born the idea of bridging the technology gap which existed between highly technical Meat Science and also the essentials of the hobbyist producing products at home. Although it took a while he's fulfilled his goal, and it has written 11 novels about smoking meats, sausages, sauerkraut, vodkas and liqueurs, vegetarian desserts, fish, canning and preserving food.
