I am an investigative reporter, writer, and historian who writes about the topics others dismiss--from a drug conspiracy in Kentucky to organized crime in Las Vegas; by corruption over the Mormon Church to the hidden history of Manifest Destiny; by one of America's bitterest political campaigns to the powerful forces arrayed against Franklin D. Roosevelt. I so are the author of eight books of nonfiction that is investigative and narrative background, and have an extensive background in broadcast and print journalism, such as newspapers, magazines, and television. They are in fact merged with a subject of the quest of topics from American history -- and especially in the American West -- that have been ignored or marginalized while the subjects of my novels at first glance seem disparate. What I have done in my 30-year career is to explore the unmentioned truths about America--what the distinguished scholar Daniel Boorstin called "Hidden History." I am a Guggenheim fellow, a Woodrow Wilson people scholar a Dark Mountain/Kluge fellow, also the recipient of two Western Heritage Awards, and are inducted into the Nevada Writers Hall of Fame. I am a fourth generation Nevadan, in which I started my journalism career and also are a longtime resident of Santa Fe.See all Sally Denton products
