Mark Horrell

For five years I have been composing what has been described as one of the Everest opinion sites out there. I write about hiking and mountaineering in the often silent standpoint of the commercial client.

For over a decade I have been exploring the planet's greater mountain ranges and keeping a journal of my travels. As a writer I try to do for mountain biking history exactly what Bill Bryson did for hiking.

Several of my expedition diaries can be found as fast reads from the major online bookstores. My first book, Seven Steps from Snowdon about my yearlong travel from mountain walker into Everest climber, to Everest, was published in November 2015.

My favorite mountaineering book is The Ascent of Rum Doodle by W.E. Bowman.
