Robin Mayhall

Robin Mayhall is a public relations specialist with more than 20 decades of experience in feature and business writing. She resides in Louisiana, writing speculative poetry and fiction in her "spare time," with occasional help from her cats.

Mayhall is a accomplished copyeditor that has worked on books ranging from children's and young adult self-help texts into the Newbery Award-winning YA book "Echohawk," published by Clarion Books. Her own very first young adult novel (and first graphic novel) has been "The Quest for Dragon Mountain," released by Graphic Universe at 2011. The book is part of a recognized series for younger readers, known as "Twisted Journeys," that reminds Mayhall of the "choose your own adventure" novels which were a fad once she was at her own YA reading stage. After having a few pages, the reader is provided a choice--stand your ground and fight, run out of the creature or state--and have to turn to see the results of the choices that were different. This usually means the book can be read again and again in various ways.

Her second book, the YA picture book "He Loves Me, He Loves Me Not," was printed by Graphic Universe at 2013. The book is No. 7 in a series of eight YA fantasy picture books based loosely on timeless "monster tales," such as the story of Frankenstein's monster, vampire lore, zombie tales, and in the instance of Mayhall's narrative, "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde." Mayhall set this horrific tale of an uncontrollable evil twin in a Texas high school that was central.

Born and raised in Louisiana, Mayhall attended college at The University of Texas at Austin, and she lived in Austin for the following 10 years after graduation. She fell in love with the weather, geography, culture and history of central Texas, and that she became fascinated with the obsession with high-school football as portrayed in the film and TV series "Friday Night Lights." She ha
