Michael J. Zwecher

Mike Zwecher is a major specialist on retirement income. He's created guidance, designed products, tools, and portfolio structures that attract the financial adviser community and their clientele. Mike Zwecher is engaged as a member of a team of specialists to develop the program for the Retirement Income Industry Association's specialist certification program.

Mike spent more than ten years at Merrill Lynch, holding senior jobs in Risk Management and Wealth Management. Mike left Risk well before the blowup, when he had been requested to turn his attention to generating solutions of tactical value to clients. As a part of Wealth Management Group his mandate led him to develop and drive a firm-wide initiative for retirement earnings.

Mike was born in Natick Massachusetts and remains a faithful, yet distant, fan of New England's teams. Mike earned levels first at Framingham State College and Tufts University before finishing a PhD in finance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.

Before Merrill, Mike was a consultant with Deloitte, an assistant professor at the Graduate School of Business Administration at Fordham University, a visiting associate professor at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and also a lecturer at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Before finishing school Mike was employed as a security guard, a night-crew clerk, a produce clerk, a paperboy, a landscaper, and just about everything else that could be done to make an honest dollar.

As the offspring of a disabled veteran and a secretary (also a veteran) Mike understands how hard folks work to scrimp and save for your future. Their money deserves better than to be treated as just another improvement to Assets Under Management.
