Kimberly Carson

Kimberly Carson, MPH, C-IAYT, is a health educator and yoga therapist in Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU), in Portland, Oregon, specializing in the therapeutic use of yoga and mindfulness meditation for seniors and individuals with medical issues. She teaches yoga classes, Stress reduction Breath by Breath, as well as Mindfulness-Based Anxiety reduction at OHSU’s Terwilliger Plaza Retirement Community, Physical and Cardiac Rehabilitation, Internal Medicine, Women's Health and March Wellness in Addition to Knight Cancer Institute. Kimberly is currently the program coordinator of Integrative Medicine services in the Knight Cancer Institute of OHSU.

Kimberly has developed and taught yoga applications being studied at Duke University Medical Center and OHSU. The Yoga of Meditation program (currently known as Mindful Yoga), developed by Kimberly and her husband Jim, has been proven in research trials to greatly reduce fatigue and pain in women with metastatic breast cancer, and breast cancer survivors, in addition to women with fibromyalgia.

Kimberly often targets on National Institutes of Health (NIH) clinical research trials assessing yoga and mindfulness interventions. Most recently, she has been protocol advisor for trials including yoga and mindfulness for a chronic pain sufferers, metastatic breast cancer patients and MS patients. Kimberly is the co-author on 20peer-reviewed articles that are +.
