Baron Schwartz

Baron is community leader a prominent MySQL performance pro, speaker, author, and applications engineer. After getting a degree in Computer Science and spending a few years as a software engineer, Baron climbed and led Percona's consulting group and practice to global prominence, subsequently based VividCortex to provide developers and operations teams deep visibility into the behaviour and operation of production database processes. Though he is most recognized for his MySQL experience, Baron knows and appreciates several types of databases, also participates in several database communities as a speaker and advocate, according to his own Oracle ACE award.

Guy Harrison

I'm an IT professional with expertise in a range of areas and technology but probably best known for my participation in database technologies - especially Oracle and MySQL - and for my applications development activities at Quest Software (now a part of Dell).

I am the writer of Next Generation Databases, Oracle Performance Survival Guide, MySql Stored Procedure Programming (with Steven Feuerstein), Oracle SQL High Performance Tuning and Oracle Desk Reference. I also write columns at occasional articles at ToadWorld and Applications and Database Trends.

I'm currently working as an Executive Director of R&D at Dell Software. I lead the R&D teams which develop the Toad household of database management products, our Company Intelligence tools and tools for important non-relational systems such as Hadoop.
