Stephen May

STEPHEN MAY Is Currently Deputy Dean (Research) and Professor of Education at Te Puna Wananga, Faculty of Education, The University of Auckland, New Zealand.

He's published 14 books and over 90 articles and chapters in the areas of language diversity, language rights, and the wider politics of ethnicity, bilingualism and multiculturalism. He has recently published a completely revised 2nd edition of his own award-winning publication, Language and Minority Rights, (Routledge, 2012) and contains a major new edited collection, The Multilingual Turn (2014) using Routledge. Stephen is a Founding Editor of the interdisciplinary journal, Ethnicities (Sage), and also Associate Editor of this journal Language Policy (Springer). He was also appointed in 2013 because the General Editor of this 3rd edition of the standard 10-volume Encyclopedia of Language and Education (Springer).
