Cheryl Potter

When she first made a lime striped T-shirt using a sparkle 22, Cheryl Potter's love for knitting started at age eight. Her passion for writing followed thereafter. Working part time she knit her way through Middlebury College. Cheryl returned to Vermont and founded a hand-painted yarn company after earning her master of fine arts degree in the University of Arizona called Cherry Tree Hill. Within a classic milk home, until she was found by Interweave Knits magazine in 1997 she dyed and made wearable art clothing. Cherry Tree Hill yarns are currently sold in countless stores all over the world, and Cheryl's work frequently appears in magazines and catalogs, in addition to on television. She's best known for her innovative colorways, painted on a variety of synthetic and natural fibers today.

Combining her love of fiber arts along with her enthusiasm for writing, Cheryl started working on the Potluck Yarn Trilogy—a YA crossover dream series that follows the experiences of a lively group of diverse characters who are often aided by enchanting clothing. While The Broken Circle and Keys of the Lost Caves (books 1 and 2) are universally appealing to all fantasy readers, but they also have the unique advantage of attribute patterns for each of the magical garments introduced during the stories. And true to her dedication to educating readers, every publication has a student/teacher reading manual with vocabulary words thematic discussion prompts, and critical reading and analytical reasoning questions.

Cheryl resides in Vermont where she runs Cherry Tree Hill Yarn, hosts retreats, also proceeds to work on book 3. To learn more and interactive tools, see
